The Story Behind the Album

The album I Believe did not begin as a fully planned project. It began with a single song — “We Fight.”

The inspiration came from a verse that had been on my mind for some time:

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
— 2 Timothy 4:7

I found myself reflecting on the daily struggles and temptations that Christians face. The song captured something deeply personal: the realization that the Christian life is not passive or easy. It is a real spiritual struggle that requires endurance, courage, and faith. That theme resonated so strongly that it sparked a deeper exploration. From that moment forward, the idea emerged that these songs could become something more than individual tracks—they could become a story. There were also other songs I had written and produced about life’s struggles and God’s grace that helped lay the foundation for what this project would eventually become.

As additional songs were written, a pattern began to emerge. The themes were not random. They began to align with the stages of the Christian journey: human struggle, the reality of sin, the sacrifice of Christ, the moment of faith, and the lifelong battle of perseverance. Rather than assembling songs in simple chronological order, the album gradually organized itself around this narrative arc. The early songs reflect the human condition and our need for redemption, while later songs celebrate faith, endurance, and the promise of eternal victory.

In that sense, the album developed almost like a theological journey set to music. Each track became a chapter in the story. The path begins in struggle with “Hard and Strong,” passes through the gospel declaration of “While We Were Sinners,” and rises to the confession of faith in “I Believe.” From there, the music moves into the reality of spiritual warfare, perseverance, and ultimately the victory and worship that culminates in “To Him Be the Glory Forever Amen.”

Looking back, what started as one song grew into a complete narrative—an odyssey of faith. The album reflects a journey from darkness into light, from human effort into grace, and from the battles of this life to the eternal glory of Christ.
